Tami's "Community, Character and Caring: Respecting & Embracing Differences" programs for schools are designed to teach people of all
ages to actively think about and understand what it means and feels like to be different with an emphasis on "Boosting Self-Esteem"
and "Character Building" through community involvement, mental health and physical fitness. Topics range from physical disabilities
to learning disabilities, from ethnicities to cultures, from family make-up to economics, from race to religion, from name calling to
bullying, from sexual preference to severe allergies and illnesses. The program challenges people of all ages to embrace the fact that
each and every person has something of value to add to our community.
The program is interactive and it can be done in a variety of ways, but typically includes one large presentation followed by
in-depth small group sessions in each classroom. The series may also include a specific talk with administrators and teachers
to address issues that may arise as a result of the program, as well as new areas to explore in classrooms regarding the subject matter.
There are opportunities for parent groups and school organizations to get involved with the program to further the reach of Tami's message of
"respecting and embracing differences." The program can then be further tailored to suit your needs. Tami has given the program to groups
of all sizes and people of all ages nationwide.
